Maijdee Government Technical School and College
Maijdee Government Technical School and College, under the Directorate of Technical Education of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, is located in the heart of Maijdee, Noakhali district. This institution is a reliable center for offering post-primary education courses, including JSC (Vocational), SSC (Vocational), and HSC (Vocational). The main objective of the institution is to create skilled human resources, promote socioeconomic development, and develop citizens into self-reliant individuals through technical education and expertise.
In this era of globalization, various challenges are constantly emerging. Therefore, alongside providing timely education and training to enhance students' intellectual abilities, the institution aims to develop skilled and enlightened citizens proficient in both technical and practical knowledge. Established in 1969 on approximately 3.865 acres of scenic land, the institution was initially named the Vocational Training Institute. Since 2003, to improve and expand technical education, SSC and HSC (Vocational) programs were introduced, and the institution was renamed Maijdee Government Technical School and College.
Currently, under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, SSC (Vocational) and HSC (Vocational) certificates are awarded in four trades: Automobile, Building Construction and Maintenance, Electrical Works and Maintenance, and Machine Tools Operation and Maintenance, following a curriculum similar to general education. Every year, in the SSC (Vocational) course, 36 students per trade are admitted in both the first and second shifts, totaling 144 students per shift. Similarly, 36 students per trade are admitted annually in the HSC (Vocational) course, totaling 144 students. Currently, a total of 864 students study at the institution each year.
